Sand mastery

A system for remote control of white sand, turning a reactive material into moving ribbons. Performance is limited by the user's internal water and the sand's charge state.

System overview

Sand is both tool and sensor

Control organises sand into ribbons that can hold, move or lift objects. During use the material changes colour and loses response until it receives the appropriate radiation again.

02

Reactive material

A microorganism makes each grain reactive

The grain surface contains an organism that responds to energy and makes the sand's state visible. Contact with water triggers the reaction, turns the sand black and can leave it temporarily inert.

03

Capacity and range

Capacity is expressed in ribbon count

Strength and complexity increase with the number of ribbons kept coordinated. Range depends on concentration, water reserves and continuity of available material.

04

Physiological risks

The most dangerous limit is physiological

Each use draws water from the body to activate the material. Exceeding the reserve causes dehydration, loss of control and mortal danger, so water management is central to the technique.
